Justin Colley did it all for the Huskies to beat the Memorial Seahawks today at the Tower.

The Saint Mary's Huskies earned a measure of revenge on Sunday afternoon defeating the Memorial Seahawks 70-59 in Atlantic University Sports women's basketball action at the Tower. The Huskies lost to the Seahawks the previous night by a score of 83-76.

Naomie Fequiere made back to back three pointers midway through the second quarter to give the Huskies a 36-24 lead and SMU would go on to outscore the Seahawks 22-10 in the frame to build a 41-30 halftime lead.

Trailing by nine at the start of the fourth quarter, the Seahawks turned up the heat on defence but could not convert on the offensive end to make a late push.

Justine Colley (East Preston, N.S.) scored twenty five points, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out six assists to pace the Huskies attack. Fequiere (Miami, FLA) added fourteen points and rookie Lindsay Panchan ( Ajax, ONT.) chipped in thirteen as Saint Mary's improved to a 11-6 on the season, good for 32 points and second place in the conference.

Fifth year senior Robyn O'Rielly (Witless Bay, NL.) scored fifteen points to lead the Seahawks while Alexandria Forsey ( St. John's, NL.) added twelve points and eight rebounds. Memorial drops to 9-7 and currently sits in fourth place with 26 points.

The Seahawks will head back home to get ready for a pair of games next weekend versus the Saint Francis Xavier X-Women in St.John`s. The Huskies will travel to Fredericton on Saturday to play the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds in a four point game that could prove pivotal to their chances of receiving a bye for the Subway AUS Championships.

Rookie Rouse Leads Huskies to Victory

The Saint Mary`s Huskies were without the services of leading scorer Tory Fassett on Sunday afternoon at the Tower due to an injury suffered the previous night, but first year player Brian Rouse filled the void to lead the Huskies to victory over the Memorial Seahawks by a score of 74-63.

Rouse (Mississauga, ONT.) scored twenty-two points to give the Huskies a pivotal win as they battle the UNB Varsity Reds for the final spot at the Subway AUS Mens Basketball Championships. SMU improves to a record of 8-9, good for twenty points in the standings and two ahead of the Varsity Reds. Both teams have three games to play including a critical four point game versus each other next Saturday in Fredericton (webcast- www.varsityreds.com).

Miguel Pink (Whitby, ONT.) and Riley Halpin (Halifax, N.S.) each added thirteen points while Harry Ezenibe (Igbo-Ukwu, Nigeria) chipped in nine points and grabbed ten rebounds for the Huskies who earned a sweep after beating the Seahawks 90-61 on Saturday night.

Jason Shepherd (Black Rock, N.S.) scored sixteen points to lead Memorial and Mark Woodland (St.John`s, NL.) tallied fifteen as the Seahawks drop to a record of 1- 15.

The Huskies used a 17-2 run early in the second quarter to build a 41-23 halftime lead. Rebounding and passing played a significant role as the Huskies out-rebounded Memorial 51-41 and registered sixteen assists as a team.

The Huskies will now prepare for their crucial game versus UNB next weekend while the Seahawks will host the Saint Francis Xavier X-Men in a two game set in St.John`s.
